Ten of the most prestigious Spanish cuisine chefs, with a combined total of seven Michelin stars, have gathered at a meeting convened by Monte Nevado where the 100% acorn-fed ham from the 2014 season took center stage.
The event took place in chef Marin Berastegui’s restaurant Eme Be, and was attended by David de Jorge (Robin Food), Elena Arzak (Restaurante Arzak), Eneko Arguiñano (Arguiñano Restaurant), Rubén Arnanz (Villena Restaurant), David García (El Corral de la Morería Restaurant), Jesús Sánchez (El Cenador de Amós Restaurant), Igor Arregi (Kaia-Kaipe Restaurant), Gorka Txapartegi (Alameda Restaurant), Álvaro Martínez (Sukam Restaurant) y Xabier Díez (Xarma Restaurant).
Monte Nevado has launched this annual event to provide gastronomy experts with the opportunity to taste and appreciate its leading product with a critical eye while continuing to develop and achieve its best aromas, taste, texture and fluidity.
The attendees all agreed on the product’s purity, conceding “that the product itself has a dedication and quality that does not require further embellishing”.
